Today officially marks 4 years as a physiotherapist. Every year I like to take some time to reflect on the past year as a way of recognizing and celebrating the growth, so here’s a little snippet.

I haven’t been one to stay in one place for long, so I’ve moved between multiple clinics. I’ve taken big jumps to advance and broaden my potential in the pursuit of the career, and ultimately the life, that I envision for myself.

This year is no different. In February, I made a move to a new clinic that aligned better with the practice and environment that I had always envisioned myself working, but what really hit different about this year compared to the rest is that this is the year that I decided to bet on myself and start my own business (a goal of mine since PT school).

Many things had to come together to make this dream a reality, and even though the weight of this goal played heavily on my fear of failure and the scarcity mindset that I had developed early on in my clinical practice, I knew that the opportunity was there.

When it came down to it, my passion, excitement, and determination won out, and with the support of family, friends, mentors and clients, Synergy Physiotherapy & Pilates was born.

So, I dove in headfirst, and if I’m being totally transparent, the process of starting and running my business was nothing I could’ve ever fully prepared for. There have been countless hours spent behind the scenes working, stressing, and trying to figure it all out as a one woman show, but I’m grateful to have some amazing mentors in my corner who have encouraged me along the way (Shoutout to Emma for all your wisdom and always challenging me to pursue my biggest goals & ambitions).

This year has taught me the value of asking for help (which anyone who knows me knows this is not exactly my M.O.), leaning on my support system and expanding my network. I’ve struggled to find the balance between it all most of the time, but the success and opportunities that have come about in the past year of practice has far exceeded my expectations and for that I am incredibly grateful.

Looking forward to continuing to support my clients and community.

Hi there!

With the recent rebrand and some fresh faces to the page, I thought a little re-introduction would be in order. I’m Sabrina, a Registered Physiotherapist serving the Windsor-Essex area.

My unique integrative approach combines functional assessment and treatment, with a large focus on exercise prescription and education to help you better understand your injury and the recovery process while optimizing function and performance along the way. I use a variety of manual therapy and soft tissue techniques, dry needling, and exercise techniques, which include resistance training and Pilates based training using the Reformer.

I believe in creating a rehabilitative environment that educates and empowers you while providing high quality, individualized care through 1-on-1 treatment sessions centred around your goals whether it be sport, activity, or lifestyle specific goals.

Welcome and I look forward to working with you!

A couple weekends ago, I had the opportunity to return to my old stomping grounds, but this time working on the sidelines as a physiotherapist. Having never done any sport coverage prior to this particular tournament, it was definitely a step outside of my comfort zone and an opportunity to embrace the physiotherapy school motto of “getting comfortable being uncomfortable” yet again.

As a former varsity athlete and now physiotherapist, I’ve always wanted to work with athletes both on and off the court/field, so this was the perfect opportunity for me to do just that. I must say that it was a bit of a trial by fire, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and in the end, I gained a lot from it. There are moments in life where it all comes full circle, and this was one of them. As a former competitive female athlete who dreamed of becoming a physiotherapist and giving back to the same community that raised me, it was a pleasure to support these young women from the sidelines as they competed in the sport that they love… and tape them back together when they needed it..

Despite similar education across the board, each physiotherapist is unique which translates into their own unique approach to assessment and treatment. My approach includes three main pillars, with you, the client, at the very centre of your care.

Pillar #1
EDUCATION: I believe that education about the nature of your injury, the driver of your pain and the reasoning behind the choice of manual therapy techniques and exercises is an important aspect of the rehabilitative process, therefore it is a cornerstone of my clinical practice.

Pillar #2
EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION: In my clinical practice, I put a large emphasis on movement and exercise by creating and providing individualized exercise programs that help you achieve your goals and return to the activities that you love.

Pillar #3
MANUAL THERAPY: I provide a form of physiotherapy that involves hands on techniques used throughout the assessment and treatment process. This includes, but not limited to, joint mobilizations and manipulation, soft tissue and myofascial releases and stretching.
