Standing with those who serve

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the tragic shooting in Montreal that claimed the lives of Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane and community member Michael Moshe Mizrahi, and injured another officer and civilian.

This tragedy comes as communities across Canada continue to mourn several recent line-of-duty deaths involving police officers. These losses are felt far beyond the immediate scene; by families, colleagues, communities, and the many first responders called upon to respond in the aftermath.

Today, we honour Mohamed, Michael, and all those affected by this tragedy. We also recognize the police officers, paramedics, firefighters, dispatchers, healthcare professionals, and support personnel carrying the weight of these events.

To those who put themselves in harm's way to keep others safe: we see your courage, your sacrifice, and your service. At Landing Strong, we stand with you and thank you for all that you do.

The weather was on our side yesterday for Community Connections. ๐ŸŒž

We commited our morning to litter pick up along the streets and trail.

It felt great to volunteer our time to make our town even more beautiful. ๐Ÿ’š

Our next Community Connections group will be Monday June 1st.

We are welcoming June with a litter pick-up around the Cedar Center streets, and possibly a nearby trail.

*This event requires walking & bending. Please decide if itโ€™s right for you.*

We will have bags and rubber gloves- please dress for the event and bring work gloves if you have them.

We look forward to seeing you at the Cedar Center Monday!

What a crew! ๐Ÿ’š

Today Community Connections ventured to The Veteran Farm Project Society . We met with Jessica to learn more about the farm, and the current projects underway.

We were able to volunteer our time with a much needed painting project, as well as moving some plants into the greenhouse.

A huge thanks to all who showed up, and an extra big shout-out to Pam & Paul who wanted to continue on with the painting.

We look forward to seeing the space when the project is complete. It was wonderful to partner with another organization who serve our Veteran community.

Thank you to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia for funding to make this possible. ๐ŸŒท
