May didn't quite go as planned with a Respiratory Outbreak interrupting our plans however we made the most of it! The month began by celebrating Cinco de Mayo, World Hand Hygiene Day, and our early Mother's Day event with Elvis! A special delivery of five Mother's Day balloon bouquets from Wingham Home Hardware were also appreciated! Group programs were put on hold during Outbreak but we were able to offer 1 to 1 visits to provide social engagement and keep spirits up! Once Outbreak was declared over we celebrated our return to programming with an outdoor celebration and music! During the final week of May, residents were happy to get back to their favourite activities including bingo, cards, crafts, church service, pet visits, music, exercise group, and more!

On Saturday, May 30th we will show our support for the local Walk for Alzheimer's by walking and strolling with staff and residents around our courtyard/accessible patio at 10:30 am!

🌞 Fun in the sun & kick off to patio season! 🌞

Last fall, the Braemar courtyard (located just off the dining room) was updated into this beautiful and accessible space for outdoor programming, family visits, and more! On Wednesday afternoon, we hosted our first patio social with entertainment, refreshments, sun, and fresh air! It was wonderful to see so many residents out! We look forward to enjoying this space as much as possible in the coming months!

Staff at Braemar wrapped up their 2026 Annual Professional Development Education with energy, teamwork, and plenty of learning along the way. This year was all about collaboration, wellness, and strengthening how we support each other and those in our care.

A big thank you to our presenters and community partners for bringing knowledge, enthusiasm, and encouragement to our PD Days.

Special shout out to SilverFox for an engaging session, Lifemark for getting us moving and focusing on wellness, and Seniors Mental Health for sharing practical insights into positive thinking, responses, and mental well-being.
