Reminder: employers can no longer request sick notes in most situations starting October 1. Physicians thank you for making this change, freeing up our time to care for more patients.

With over 600,000 sick notes per year, eliminating them can free doctors’ time for up to 300,000 patient visits.

Don’t be discouraged if your child’s lunchbox is coming back home looking relatively untouched, especially in the early days back to school when they are getting used to new routines, or rushing lunchtime to go play with their friends.

Pediatrician, Dr. William Li recommends a variety of foods throughout the day, remembering that children’s appetites change from day-to-day and even meal-to-meal. If you are concerned about the types of food your child is eating or their growth, talk about it with your child’s physician. Visit GettingHealthy.ca for back to school health tips.
