✨ "You are the result of the resilience of every ancestor who came before you."

On the days when the path feels heavy, remember that you carry a legacy of survival. Healing is about letting go of the things that weigh you down so you can return to who you really are.

At NACM, we believe you have what it takes to change your life. You do not have to have all the answers today. You only need the courage to keep showing up for yourself.

We are here to support you in every step of that journey.

🌿 Healing starts with a clear mind and a peaceful spirit.

Smudging is a sacred practice used by many Indigenous Peoples to clear away negative energy and bring focus to the heart. By using traditional medicines like sage, sweetgrass, cedar, or to***co, we invite clarity and balance into our lives.

At NACM, smudging is a core part of our daily routine. It helps our Relatives ground themselves before starting their day or entering a circle. This simple act of ceremony reminds us to let go of what no longer serves us and to move forward with a kind and honest spirit.

Whether you are at home or in our programming, taking a moment to smudge is a way to honour yourself and your connection to the Creator.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to celebrate the knowledge, traditions, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

At NACM, we see the impact of our history every day through the resurgence of our cultures and the reclamation of our languages. We do not just look back. We look forward, carrying the teachings of our ancestors as we walk the path of healing and renewal.

From land based practices to ceremony, we are returning to the ways that have always sustained us. This month, we honour where we come from and celebrate the wellness we are building together.

🌿 The land provides what we need to heal.

In our traditions, the plants around us are more than just part of the landscape—they are our teachers and our medicine. Here are a few medicines found in our region and the wellness they bring:

• Sweetgrass: Often gathered for ceremony and smudging, it is used to cleanse the spirit and invite positive energy.
• Sage: Known for its grounding properties, it is commonly used to clear away negative energy and restore balance to the mind.
• Cedar: Often used in bathing or tea, it is respected for its protective and purifying qualities.
• To***co: A sacred medicine used for offering, it is essential for showing gratitude and opening a connection to the Creator.

At NACM, we incorporate these traditional medicines into our healing programs to help our Relatives find their path back to balance.

If you are seeking support rooted in culture and tradition, reach out to us today.

🌟 A Heartfelt Congratulations to Our New Graduates! 🌟

We are filled with immense pride as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of the recent graduates from the Native Addictions Council of Manitoba's In-House Healing Day Program on May 13th, 2026.

🔶 Standing Together to End Violence

On May 14, NACM recognizes Moose Hide Campaign Day, a grassroots movement dedicated to ending violence against Indigenous women, children, and all people.

Wearing a moose hide pin represents a commitment to honour, protect, and respect our Relatives. It is a pledge to speak out, take a stand, and be part of meaningful change.

We encourage everyone to learn more, reflect on the role we each play, and take action in support of safer communities.
