CMM takes pride in celebrating the upcoming International Day of the Midwife (May 5th) with its members and colleagues. This year we are filled with optimism as we anticipate welcoming new Manitoba graduates to the profession. CMM recognizes that the quality care that midwives in Manitoba and around the world provide helps to improve the lives of mothers, infants and families. CMM remains committed to supporting the dedicated work of midwives in the communities they serve.

International Day of the Midwife coincides with Red Dress Day, a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit people in Canada. CMM honours the memories of those that are lost and stands with their families and communities.

The College of Midwives of Manitoba with the full support of Kagike Danikobidan (KD) is looking for your help to inform the development of a mentorship model for newly registered Indigenous midwives. We need your help to strengthen the next generation of Indigenous midwives by contributing to the development and operationalization of a responsive mentorship framework in our province.
