Pride Winnipeg was awesome!
It has me thinking about my first Pride. I think I was 18, still fairly freshly identifying as bisexual and not even knowing being non-binary and 2 Spirit were options. That one was smaller, less familiar faces, quieter but still loud. Pride Winnipeg has grown along with my q***r identity and community.
Now, I attend with a partner and friends who love who I am so much. I see people I’ve gotten to be their therapist be so PROUD, some who always had a grasp and some who only recent stood their ground. I see more parents and partners, more kids and more smiles.
Can’t wait to see what comes next as our community will triumph over oppression and oppressive heat.
