How does Stage Hypnosis work?

People instantly become mortified at the idea of being made to do something in the hypnotic state that they would not want to do - I completely understand.

Your subconscious mind will not accept any suggestion that is not in line with your morals ethics. This is not mind control.

So, assuming the person in the clip is not acting, how does someone act like that in a stage hypnosis performance? It has something to do with personality parts.

Can you be hypnotized? Yes, only if you want to!

The hypnotic state is not magic, sleep, or "going under". It is a state you go into and out of seamlessly every day.

Take a moment to see how your body responds (feelings/emotions) to the idea of being hypnotized, and you are beginning to understand that any resistance begins within. Once those concerns are addressed, anyone of normal pr greater intelligence can do hypnosis. Our brains are designed to do so!

The start of a new habit! I have been a lot better about letting go of perfection throughout 2026, and I am going to carry it over to making content and growing my practice.

I think throughout my rambling I figured out part of my motivation for posting again - I have run into a lot more content about hypnosis in shows, movies, and of course on social media. Unfortunately, most of it is inaccurate and creates many false beliefs about what it is that I do, what people think they are going to experience, and generally, what the trance state is.
