Dr. Sparrow traded in her climbing shoes for her grubby painting clothes today.

Did you know she handles the majority of clinic renos/upgrades herself?!

From faucets, lighting fixtures, mirrors, furniture, and painting, she’s often working behind the scenes, and outside of clinic hours.

This summer, our three massage therapy treatment rooms are getting a fresh paint job, before flooring installers tackle the outdated floors.

We can’t wait for you to see these soon-to-be updated spaces!

Also, as a reminder, we are closed Monday August 3rd for the long weekend. Dr. Sparrow will be away the remainder of that week, getting some much needed rest. If you’re wanting to get in before the long weekend, give us a call on Monday!

Have a great weekend! Enjoy the sun!

Long drive planned, or already feeling the after-effects of one. 🚗💢

Acupuncture is a great option for relieving muscle stiffness, tension headaches, and nagging back or shoulder discomfort that can build up after hours in the car. 💆‍♂️🌿

By supporting circulation and the body’s natural recovery response, acupuncture can help active adults in Winnipeg feel looser, calmer, and more comfortable without relying on medication alone. 🙌✨

It is especially helpful after summer road trips, cottage weekends, and busy holiday travel when sitting, lifting, and poor sleep leave your body feeling off. ☀️🛣️

If travel tension is slowing you down, our team at Active Chiropractic & Wellness is here to help. ✅💙

We break down common post-travel issues like lower back pain, shoulder tension, headaches, and hip stiffness, along with practical ways to reduce discomfort before it lingers into the rest of your summer. 💆🧠

You will also learn how services like acupuncture and registered massage therapy can support recovery after long Manitoba drives, whether you are coming back from the lake, cottage country, or a family visit. 🙌🛣️

UPDATE as of July 1st:

I met with the plumber first thing this morning. A new water tank will be installed tomorrow morning. 🤞 it all goes smoothly, and the water is on by noon! Thank you for everyone’s patience, understanding, and support! These little (big?) hiccups are frustrating, but it’s been so nice to read the comments coming through. ❤️

Another climbing video that doesn’t QUITE capture the slope of the wall, or the slightly more difficult climbing holds!

Anyway…I couldn’t complete this last week. I had taken the prior Friday off, and remember being so frustrated at how my arms/forearms felt last Friday. At about 3/4 of the way up, my endurance simply crapped out. After just a week off?!?

But today, feeling properly warmed up and fresh, it went on the first attempt. And then, I repeated it. Because, you know, I needed video proof. 🙂

Progress is, by far, not linear. It’s hard not to be frustrated in those moments when you expect more from your body.

I hear you. I’m learning with you. Always helping you to mitigate injury risk, and lending a helping hand when you’ve pushed things too far.

Happy weekend! Remember, we’re closed next Wednesday for Canada Day. And I’ll be away next week…recovering from today’s climbing session. 😉

If every summer walk ends with heel pain, your feet could be asking for better support. 👣☀️

In Winnipeg, June often means more time at The Forks, Assiniboine Park, local festivals, and cottage weekends, so it is common for plantar pain to flare up when walking and standing suddenly increase. 🌳🚶

Our newest blog explains why flatter summer footwear, worn-out runners, and poor biomechanics can turn a simple stroll into ongoing soreness in the heels, arches, and even the lower body. 👟📘

We also answer one of the most searched questions online in a practical way: are custom orthotics really worth it for plantar fasciitis and active summer routines? ❓🦶

If you have noticed tired feet, sharp heel pain in the morning, or discomfort that travels into your knees, hips, or low back, this local guide offers helpful insight into what may be driving the problem. 💡💙

It is a valuable read for anyone who wants to stay active this season without letting foot pain interfere with family walks, travel plans, or everyday comfort. ☀️✅

Read the full blog and find out whether custom orthotics could help you enjoy a more comfortable, active summer. 💻

Heel pain should not decide how far you can walk this summer. 👣☀️

Custom orthotics are designed to match your unique foot mechanics, helping reduce strain on the plantar fascia and improving alignment from the feet up. 🦶📏

Unlike generic insoles, custom orthotics provide targeted support that can ease pressure in the arches, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back. ✅🩺

If long days at work, weekend walks, or summer travel leave your feet aching, a professional assessment can help determine whether orthotics are the right solution for you. 🚶‍♀️💼
