Meditek, centrally located in Winnipeg, MB, entered the Canadian medical industry in 1981. As a division of the family corporation that had been operating since 1962, Meditek was poised to provide nationwide support. A small service department was created in a little workshop with the vision of remanufacturing medical equipment. Today, Meditek still offers that same quality service of remanufacturing, even though we have diversified into many other areas of medical products and services. Meditek’s core belief in reliability, quality and customer service remains unchanged. As we developed, we recognized that Canadian hospitals wanted and deserved better medical equipment conditions in their operating rooms. This realization led to distribution growth of new medical equipment and products for a variety of manufacturers. At the same time, we continued to provide cost-effective medical equipment solutions for budget restrained hospitals in Canada through our unique remanufacturing program. Committed to remain the ‘total solutions partner’, Meditek’s product development will never cease as we continuously develop new healthcare products and services to meet the requirements of tomorrow.

Some hospital projects are big.
This one was BIG big.

Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre was not a “drop off a few lights and call it a day” kind of project.

Meditek booms, lights and ancillary equipment were installed on a facility-wide scale, spanning dozens of rooms supporting specialized procedures to essential clinical workflows.

That is a lot of moving parts.

And in a hospital, moving parts need to work together without creating more work for the people in the room.

This is the kind of project that reminds us why planning, coordination, equipment – and the right partner 😉 - matter.

Something big is taking shape in Alberta. 👀

Another SLD AirFRAME project is underway, and we’re excited to bring fully integrated infrastructure to even more OR suites.

Honoured? Absolutely.
But this one deserves a bigger word.

Foothills Medical Centre’s McCaig Tower Project was big in every sense of the word.

Equipment carrier booms and LED surgical lights in 4 minor procedure rooms.
Equipment carrier booms across 21 PACU bays.
Equipment carrier booms and camera-ready LED surgical lights in 9 operating rooms and an Interventional Trauma OR.

That is a lot of rooms. A lot of coordination. A lot of details that had to be right.

And that is exactly the kind of work Meditek shows up for.

Not flashy. Not easy. Not small.

But absolutely worth looking back on. 💪
