✨Did you know?🙌🏻
National Microneedling Day is celebrated on October 26 to highlight collagen induction therapy/skin rejuvenation treatment.🤍
Here’s a Day-by-Day Recovery Timeline
• Day 0 (Procedure Day):
• What to expect: Redness, warmth, tightness, and a mild sensation similar to a sunburn.
• Do’s & Don’ts: Use only gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and hyaluronic acid or semi-occlusive barriers recommended by your provider.
Avoid makeup, workouts, heavy sweating, hot showers, and direct sun exposure.
• Day 1:
• What to expect: Residual pinkness or redness, dryness, and mild tightness.
• Do’s & Don’ts: Continue minimal, gentle skincare, stay hydrated, and apply mineral sunscreen (SPF 30+) if stepping outside. Still avoid active skincare (retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin C) and makeup.
• Days 2–3:
• What to expect: Redness begins to fade into a light pink; skin may feel a bit rough, tight, or develop fine flaking and dryness as cell turnover accelerates.
• Do’s & Don’ts: Do not pick or pull at peeling skin. You can slowly reintroduce light makeup or a gentle moisturizer if your skin is no longer irritated, but continue skipping strong actives.
• Days 4–5:
• What to expect: Flaking and peeling subside, and skin texture starts feeling smoother and more even.
• Do’s & Don’ts: Maintain strict daily sun protection. You can begin returning toward a normal routine.
• Days 6–7 and Beyond:
• What to expect: Most visible redness and flaking are gone, revealing a brighter, more vibrant complexion.
• Do’s & Don’ts: You can gradually reintroduce retinoids and potent active ingredients around day 7 (or per your esthetician’s guidance). Peak collagen and texture improvements continue to develop over the next 4 to 8 weeks.
