Sharing some developments around technology for online work. I’m having fun learning about multiple cameras. I’m still a little clumsy with some of it but it’s good to have new tools and I’ve had some great help (particular thanks to my friend Lucas 🙏). So fitting that the card I’ve drawn today is the Page of Pentacles! Among other things this can be innovation and inventiveness.

Morning coffee and a little chat about the foundations of the four elements in systems like Tarot, Astrology, Qabala and other related areas. An old Folk riddle goes “Earth and Water, Fire and Air, gathered in a garden fair, put in a basket bound in skin, if you solve this riddle you never begin”. All elders knew we are made up of these elements (and return to them).

Sharing from my personal page as it seems this is useful for some:
Some life lessons are hard and the stubborn resistance is uncomfortable. Recognizing that I am powerless over people places and things does not mean that I let them have power over me, rather that I learn to see some patterns as having an allergic reaction.
When someone from personal ancient history texts at 1:00 AM with “thinking of you”, they may be, but also they’re thinking of themselves in relation to you.
Pema Chodron talks about “Shenpa” or the things that hook us back into patterns and we can learn to not bite the hook.
Doing inventory work along with admitting and recognizing our own hooks, we can make amends, let go and let God.

Metta Prayer:
“May all beings be peaceful.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings awaken to the light of their true nature.
May all beings be free.”

This painting is just outside my door and is some of the works by my brother Daniel Thorkelson that grace my home. I’ve always been drawn to art, symbolism, folklore and tools for growth. I love the ongoing learning and sharing of my path and Tarot has been a working part of that for over 40 years!
For me Tarot is a living language, not memorized interpretations so much as letting the energy of the Querant along with my own intuitive awareness speak through the cards. I’d love to see what that could mean for you!

The other day my friend and colleague Lucas stopped by with a gift. He knows that I have an affinity for crows and the painting called “Spirit Crow” is by Indigenous artist Stephanie White (Qalipu band, Newfoundland and Labrador) and Lucas found it at a store I look forward to visiting “Mantic” is a metaphysical store out North on Main Street. It’s at home among my other things. - Grateful. 🐦‍⬛🤗
