The RMT Self-Care Routine: When 20+ Years of Manual Work Meets Chronic Pain 🌿

After more than two decades of working with my hands and navigating fibromyalgia and chronic pain—especially as perimenopause intensifies the flare-ups—maintaining a strict self-care routine isn't optional. It’s what keeps me going.

On the days when the pain hits my hands hard, I rely on the exact same professional tools I trust in my clinic: Therapeutic Ultrasound to calm deep tissue inflammation, paired with Dolphin Neurostim for fast microcurrent relief.

The results are immediate, clearing the way so I can wake up ready for a new day of clients who need help with their own healing journeys.
You have to take care of the vessel if you want to keep helping others heal.

When you fix one problem and the body immediately tells you about the next one! 😂
My husband was the perfect guinea pig for this combo: using Therapeutic Ultrasound to reduce inflammation and promote deep tissue repair in his strained knee, followed by Dolphin Neurostim to target the meridian points and quickly calm the nervous system

We got great, immediate results on the strained side, but as soon as he stood up, he quipped that his other knee suddenly wanted attention.
It’s actually a common reaction!

As one area releases, compensation patterns shift. It reminds us that the body is connected, and sometimes addressing the root cause means following the chain of tension.

Full recovery is a process, but we’re making progress one knee at a time!

My husband spent months waking up in the middle of the night, shaking his hands out because they were 'asleep.' He was convinced he had Carpal Tunnel from too much time on his phone, and honestly? I believed him.

He started wearing a wrist brace to bed, taking anti-inflammatories, and even started worrying about whether he’d need surgery. But he was treating the wrong problem.

It wasn't his wrist. It was his neck.

We’ve all seen it: the 'slumped-over' posture while scrolling or the way we let our heads hang off the pillow at night. That tension was compressing his nerves at the source, sending those 'pins and needles' signals all the way down to his fingers. Once we stopped focusing on his wrist and started addressing the neck tension, the numbness finally stopped.

Do your fingers go numb while sleeping, driving, or scrolling your phone

Before you blame carpal tunnel, your neck could be telling a very different story.
STOP blaming your wrist! The numbness and tingling in your hand may actually be coming from your NECK.

Most people treat the symptom—but miss the real cause.

The nerves that control your hand begin in your cervical spine (neck). When they're irritated by poor posture, muscle tension, or a compressed nerve, they can send pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness all the way down your arm into your fingers.

That's why treating only your wrist doesn't always provide lasting relief.

Here are 4 simple ways to help:

✅ Improve your posture with chin tucks to reduce pressure on your neck.

✅ Practice gentle nerve glides to help irritated nerves move more freely.

✅ Sleep smarter by supporting your neck and shoulders with proper pillow positioning.

✅ Break the tension loop—stand up every 20–30 minutes, roll your shoulders back, and reset your posture.

💡 Neck-related symptoms often include neck pain or stiffness and may change when you move your head, while carpal tunnel symptoms are usually more localized to the wrist and hand.

If you're experiencing persistent numbness or tingling, don't just treat where it hurts—find the source of the problem.
