Integrative Movement

Integrative Movement Experts in therapy and exercise prescription for injury, pain, disease management, and performance. This is a class designed for riders, by a rider.

As riders, we are athletes, so why don't we train like athletes? I've been in the industry over half my life, and have the education to help equestrians improve their training and improve their ride. A fit rider equals a fit horse, whatever your discipline or goals. My goal is to help riders realise how their health and biomechanics can impact their horse's health and performance. With a backgroun

d in Athletic Therapy and Kinesiology, I utilise biomechanics and postural assessment to help athletes improve their performance, in and out of the saddle.

🗣 Special Announcement!

We are officially announcing the closing of Integrative Movement as of Aug 31.

It’s been a great few years but as life brings shifts we have to make tough choices. This is a bittersweet moment for us all, but it also comes with much gratitude for what IM has been.

Fear not- your fav therapists with IM can still be found nearby.

To find Kat, check her personal page Kathlyn or her new business page Evoke🌿

If you don’t already have your therapists contact info and you’d like it- feel free to DM or email us and we’d be happy to connect you to where you can find your therapist in the future.

Any regularly scheduled sessions in August will continue as usual!

To all those who have supported IM.. THANK YOU! We hope to see familiar faces like you in our new endeavours 👏

Wondering why no matter what you do you always seem to have recurring pain and tension?
The chronic pain cycle often aligns with this. Emotional, physical and mental stress all show up in the body. The cycle won’t stop until we figure out how to rewrite our story.
That’s where the help of a skilled therapist can come in. Breaking pain and sabotage cycles and guiding the route to a new storyline.
You still have to do the hard work- but having some external guidance helps.
Posted • .holistic.psychologist How many times have you made promises to yourself to do something to improve your life? How many times have you told yourself this time will be different? Then, a few weeks later you’re back to your familiar self.

I lived self-betrayal for a significant part of my adult life. Like most people I grew up watching the adults around me betray themselves. They’d start something and not finish. They’d not follow through. I never saw anyone prioritize their wellness. All I saw was self-sacrifice and self-neglect.

And so, as humans always do, I repeated my conditioning. I didn’t trust myself. I’d say things like “I’ll try” or “I hope.” That’s what we always say when we live this cycle. And our self worth takes a huge hit.

A few years ago I decided that I was done. I was tired of being tired. I was tired of lying to myself and all the delusion that comes with that.

My process was simple: keep one SMALL promise to myself every single day. Something so small it feels insignificant. I built those promises slowly. I cultivated patience. I began with going to bed early. After a month, I’d add a new promise. Next came cooking at home. Then, journaling. It’s work. It’s like building the foundation of a home, only you’re rebuilding yourself.

It’s painful. And scary. But it works if you do.

It took me a solid year of practice to say this magical line: when I make a promise to myself, I keep it.

This dedicated practice healed my self-betrayal. It increased my self-worth and confidence. It’s not a quick fix, but if you engage in this work I can promise you, you’ll be a different person.

Do you suffer from self-betrayal?

Pain is a signal of something up in the system (MIND + BODY), not necessarily the root issue.
Our emotions feed into our physical well being waaay more than we think!

If pain simply isn’t adding up and you don’t suspect any sinister pathology in your client, it could be that they are going through an adverse life event. Don’t be afraid to ask if anything ELSE may have been different at the beginning of their pain experience.
How do you go about this?
Don’t sit still. Make moves!

LYMPHATIC SYSTEM

The lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. It primarily consists of lymphatic vessels, which are similar to the veins and capillaries of the circulatory system. The vessels are connected to lymph nodes, where the lymph is filtered. The tonsils, adenoids, spleen and thymus are all part of the lymphatic system.

It plays a key role in the immune system, fluid balance, and absorption of fats and fat-soluble nutrients. As lymph vessels drain fluid from body tissues, this enables foreign material to be delivered to the lymph nodes for assessment by immune system cells. The lymph nodes swell in response to infection, due to a build-up of lymph fluid, bacteria, or other organisms and immune system cells. Lymph nodes can also become infected, in a condition known as lymphadenitis.

If you are struggling with weak lymphatic system that is not detoxing the toxins from your body properly, Bioresonance can help. Book your first session to find out what is going on in that system and to get relief from the pain.
