We’re excited to share that two wonderful practitioners will be joining our clinic team this July, expanding our services and creating more opportunities for our community to access supportive, holistic care.

🌸 Welcome Amy Lake, RMT

Amy brings many years of experience working in healthcare and helping professions. Her background includes supporting neurodivergent individuals and working in palliative care, where she developed a remarkable ability to remain grounded, present, and compassionate through life’s most challenging moments.

Amy’s greatest strength is her capacity to hold space with steadiness, warmth, and genuine care. She is passionate about creating a calm and welcoming environment where people can set down the stresses of daily life, reconnect with themselves, and experience the restorative benefits of therapeutic touch.

🪷 Welcome Jess Innis, Acupuncturist

Jess will be offering acupuncture appointments on Thursday evenings.

Jess has a deep appreciation for the wisdom and traditions of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is passionate about supporting health by addressing the whole person and helping patients restore balance in body, mind, and spirit.

In addition to her acupuncture training, Jess is certified in breathwork and has a special interest in supporting nervous system regulation. Her thoughtful and integrative approach helps patients cultivate resilience, awareness, and a deeper connection with themselves.

We are thrilled to welcome both Amy and Jess to the clinic and are excited to expand our continued commitment to creating a space where people can access compassionate, patient-centred care that supports healing, resilience, and wellbeing.

In early 2025 my wife and I packed up our lives on Vancouver Island and headed home (for me) to Nova Scotia after 11 years away. Today is our one year Wolfville-anniversary and of these two former nomads finally settling down 🌿

We took the train across the country and landed in a small rural community, house-sitting while we figured out our next move. With no massage clinics nearby, I rented a little studio space and tried to build a practice from scratch.

To put it mildly, it was a flop.

While we met some wonderful people, we also experienced a level of homophobia that neither of us had encountered before—even after years of tree planting and spending time in remote communities across northern Alberta and BC.

Then, as luck would have it, we stumbled upon a true gem 💎 of a fixer-upper in Wolfville. Around the same time, Mia hired me at High Tide, and everything began to shift.

Since settling here, Wolfville has affirmed again and again that this is where we’re meant to be.
None of it has come easy. There have been plenty of risks and moments of uncertainty. But somehow, one year later, we’re rooted. Our home is starting to feel like the place we always hoped it could be. The garden is thriving. My wife is in massage therapy school. And I’m settling into the wonderfully surreal reality of owning this little clinic that welcomed me when I first arrived.

The clinic space is quietly becoming the warm, welcoming nest I always envisioned and I promise that although my face might not reflect it, on the inside I’m beaming.

Thank you, Wolfville, for a truly unforgettable first year. Here’s to many more ❤️

At High Tide Wellness, creating a safe, inclusive, and caring space isn’t just part of our values—it’s personal.
As a q***r person living and working in a small town, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find spaces where you feel truly comfortable, welcomed, and understood (although we are so lucky to be in THIS small town). Wellness spaces aren’t always built with 2SLGBTQIA+ people in mind, and that can make seeking care feel vulnerable or even intimidating.
Everyone deserves access to care where they can show up exactly as they are. A place where they don’t have to explain themselves, brace themselves, or make themselves smaller.
To every q***r, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse person in our community: you belong here. You deserve rest. You deserve care. You deserve healing.
