More access to addictions services with 15 mobile withdrawal management spaces in Yorkton.

Medavie Health Services West developed the withdrawal management program in consultation with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to be integrated with the existing mental health and addiction services and resources delivered by SHA health care professionals in Yorkton. By the end of June 2026, 22 new sober living spaces will open in Regina to support people transitioning from addiction treatment to independent living.

This initiative will include four single-detached homes across the city, and access to recovery-focused programming offered by Oxford House Saskatchewan which will oversee day-to-day programming.

Regina first responders have been inundated with overdose calls this month. With trends from the larger centers tending to pop up in the Southwest shortly thereafter we want to send out a warning and remind everyone to carry naloxone and never use alone. Remember the Good Samaritan act protects you in case of calling 911 for an overdose.
