Medartis develops, manufactures and distributes titanium screws and plates, surgical instruments and system solutions for fracture fixation. Headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, Medartis is represented worldwide through its nine subsidiaries and wide distributor network. Thomas Straumann founded Medartis in 1997, re-entering the field of osteosynthesis in cranio-maxillofacial surgery. In 2004, Medartis expanded its product portfolio with the APTUS Hand and Distal Radius systems, a focal point of which is the predominant TriLock locking technology. This paved the way for a successful entry into orthopedics. All Medartis products are developed in close consultation with hand and traumatology specialists as well as experienced OR teams.
