Saturday, October 31st : THE GENERATING CYCLE

Join Persia Juliet in this Yin Workshop exploring The Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The generating cycle is also known as the nourishing cycle, this is a welcoming practice for all levels and all ages. We will journey through the elemental wheel using Yin Asana to stimulate certain meridians. What makes this experience unique is you’ll receive a print out to design your own home practice for each element. Our journey will also include body tapping, organ sounds, guided color meditation and more. This workshop is a taster of SOMA CHANDRA, a 50hr Yin YTT.

Sunday, November 1st : DIGESTING LIFE

Join Persia Juliet on a specialised workshop focused on Digesting Life. This workshop ventures into the realm of Earth Element and how it manifests inside of you physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Through various techniques of stimulating the Stomach and Spleen Meridians with tapping, yin poses and breath work. This is a beautiful experience to pause, reflect and take a moment to digest your life’s experience. Including Mythic stories and somatic inquiry, this is a journey not to miss.

Silvia | Ashtanga yoga
I discovered Ashtanga yoga over 10 years ago, and it has been my daily companion ever since. Through the repetition and exploration of the Ashtanga sequences, the practice has become my safe space and steady support throughout my studies, pregnancy, postpartum, and now motherhood.

Over the years, I have deepened my practice with dedicated teachers in Italy and Boston, further exploring it through workshops, in-depth retreats and a 250-hour teacher training at Bottega Yoga in Bologna.

The Looking Glass Basel has always done our best to be aware of the power differential that is inherent between teacher and student and to offer a safe space for everyone to come and to share their practice with us. Some steps we have taken is to include a Yoga and Trauma portion within our teacher training with Sangeeta Vallabhan | Solemarch - Yoga for Trauma, to offering consent cards at the desk that allows a student to change their minds throughout a class, whether they would like to receive hands on assists.

This week, as many may be reading about or hearing of the heinous crimes that took place at Cornell University, as well as globally around the world, we are aware that many may be reliving current or past abuse and we want to be sensitive to what may be arising (now and always) as we move on the mat. Please feel free to take the consent cards located at the desk, to tell a teacher No, and to make any modifications to the offered practice that you may need. We know that this is not enough, but a start. Sending Love and Healing to the community near and far. 🙏
