𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 – 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭, 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬. From rural Australia to Pakistan and Tanzania, health leaders are proving that virtual consultations can keep facilities running, reduce unnecessary travel, and connect patients to specialists who might otherwise be out of reach.

In New South Wales, virtual generalist and specialist services help small facilities stay open despite workforce shortages, while in Pakistan, simple phone consultations combined with community outreach are transforming care delivery in resource-limited areas. Tanzania’s virtual networks link local doctors with cardiologists and other specialists, saving patients hundreds of kilometres of travel. Today’s YEL Masterclass explored the importance of 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 and creating environments where women can thrive, lead, and influence decision-making.

Participants explored the mutual benefits of mentoring relationships, highlighting the value that both mentors and mentees gain through meaningful professional connections.
