MPS Precimed, the hip and knee specialist! 🦵
We continue the presentation of MPS' four divisions with MPS Precimed. Active in the fields of orthopedic surgery and traumatology, this division develops and manufactures special instrumentation that is used by suregons around the globe.
👉 Hip arthroplasty
When a patient undergoes hip replacement surgery, a multitude of our instruments come into play. The reamer, which spins thanks to a power tool attached via the reamer handle, shapes the acetabulum to receive the prosthesis. Our impactor then helps place the cup of the prosthesis in the acetabulum.
👉 Traumatology
Complex femur fractures can be a headache to reconstruct. That's where our flexible intramedullary reamers come into play. They dig a hole in the soft part of the femur. Thanks to a nitinol shaft, they follow the natural curve of the bone. Metal rods can then be inserted in this hole to facilitate the reconstruction of the bone.
