Following a record-breaking Online Voting phase, ITU and the WSIS Prizes are pleased to announce the 90 WSIS Prizes 2026 Champions!
Selected from among 360 nominated projects representing 86 countries, the Champions emerged through an extraordinary global community effort that generated more than 2.2 million votes.
This year’s WSIS Prizes process reached another historic milestone with:
• 1,595 project submissions from 122 countries
• 360 nominated projects
• 90 WSIS Prizes 2026 Champions
• 2,203,324 votes cast during Online Voting

The WSIS Prizes continue to recognize projects using ICTs, digital innovation, and emerging technologies to create meaningful impact on the ground, advance sustainable development, strengthen inclusion, and connect communities worldwide.
Congratulations to all 90 Champions — and to all nominated projects for their outstanding contributions to implementing the WSIS Action Lines and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
ITU warmly thanks the entire WSIS community for its incredible engagement, support, and participation throughout the Online Voting phase.

The 18 WSIS Prizes 2026 Winners will be officially announced during the WSIS Forum 2026, hosted by ITU and co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD, taking place from 6–10 July 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.
In addition to the special WSIS Prizes 2026 Winners Ceremony, all Champions will be celebrated during the WSIS Prizes 2026 Champions Ceremony, while all nominated projects will also be recognized during special activities at the WSIS Forum 2026.
