Today marks a historic moment: the first-ever Malaria Session at the Pan-African Parliament, jointly convened by and (The Coalition of Parliamentarians to End Malaria in Africa).

On the agenda: parliamentarians from across the continent will review the state of malaria in Africa where 95% of global cases and deaths occur and consider the PAP/COPEMA Joint Malaria Action Plan 2026–2030 for adoption.
Speakers include representatives from , , , Partnership, Global Fund, Serum Institute and Santé Afrique, alongside a panel on innovation and private sector engagement in the fight against malaria.
As lawmakers, budget approvers, and oversight actors, parliamentarians hold the power to champion increased domestic financing and hold governments accountable for malaria elimination commitments.
Malaria is preventable and curable. With strong political leadership and sustained domestic financing, Africa can end it.
