Successful 2nd European Council by ESCI

On 10 July 2026, leading representatives from science, clinical practice and industry came together in SwissRe Centre for Global Dialogue Rüschlikon, Switzerland, for the 2nd European Council by ESCI.

The intensive and constructive discussions confirmed the important role of the ESCI as an independent, scientifically oriented platform connecting research, clinical practice and industry. Key topics included the evidence-based positioning of ceramic implants as a serious, indication-specific alternative to titanium, the expansion of education and training, stronger international visibility and the further professionalisation of the society.

The Council also underlined that the sustainable development of ceramic implantology requires continuous collaboration, transparent communication and a shared commitment beyond individual products and companies.

We sincerely thank all members of the Scientific Advisory Board, the Board of Directors and our Company Partners for their openness, valuable contributions and dedication to the future of ceramic implantology.

A special day for ceramic implantology!
In cooperation with the European Society for Ceramic Implant Dentistry: The first Eastern European Semmelweis Ceramic Implant Symposium in Budapest 🇭🇺 on January 21, 2026!
Outstanding speakers, such as ESCI members Prof. Michael Payer, Dr. Jens Tartsch, Dr. Kesav Babu, Dr. Markus Sperlich, and many others, as well as more than 130 participants from all over Europe made this symposium unique. Special thanks to Semmelweis University and Dr. Daniel Vegh for the excellent organization!
It is precisely through such open exchange, focused learning, and clinical discussions that ceramic implantology continues to develop.
We are grateful to have been part of this high-caliber academic platform and to have been able to accompany such motivated colleagues.
ESCI is very much looking forward to further collaboration!

Science, friends, and innovation ...that is, was characterized this year's European Congress for Ceramic Implant Dentistry of the European Society for Ceramic Implantology (ESCI).
It was a very special event. In Zurich, we not only celebrated 60 years of modern implantology, but also demonstrated how far ceramic implantology has matured today – scientifically, clinically, and technologically.

Over 200 participants from more than 20 countries listened to exciting lectures and workshops by 28 internationally renowned speakers and discussed material innovations, biological principles, and clinical applications of ceramic implants. The message was clear: ceramic implants are no longer just a trend, but represent the future of dental implantology.
This was also reflected in the statement made by Prof. Tomas Albrektsson in his keynote speech on 60 years of implantology:
“Ceramic implants have come to stay!”

The ESCI Congress 2025 impressively demonstrated that we are on the threshold of a new, metal-free and scientifically sound era of dentistry. I am delighted to be able to shape this path together with so many dedicated colleagues.

Are you an ESCI member with an outstanding ceramic implantology case?

Submit your case presentation for the ESCI Award 2025. All entries are reviewed by the ESCI Scientific Advisory Board. The winning author receives 1,000 CHF and an invitation to deliver a 10-minute oral presentation in the main plenum at the ESCI Congress. All submitted presentations will be published on the ESCI website.
