Abdominoplasty or Liposuction: What’s the Difference?
Both procedures can improve the abdominal area, but they address different concerns.
Liposuction removes localized fat deposits and helps create more balanced body contours. However, it does not remove excess skin, correct significant skin laxity, or repair diastasis recti.
Abdominoplasty is a more comprehensive procedure. It removes excess skin and fatty tissue and, when necessary, can also repair the abdominal wall.
In simple terms:
liposuction works with fat, while abdominoplasty works with skin, tissue, and, when needed, the abdominal muscles.
In some cases, the two procedures may be combined. The most appropriate approach is always determined individually after consultation and assessment of your anatomy, skin quality, and abdominal wall.
The priority is a safe, natural-looking, and aesthetically balanced result.
