There’s something powerful about stepping outside the workplace, even for just an hour.
This week, I had the pleasure of leading an outdoor mindful movement and walking session for the team at Bristol Myers Squibb, called “Walk, Breathe, Connect: A Mindful Outdoor Practice.” Thank you to the MHA team for bringing me in.
We stepped away from our screens and schedules, slowed down, paid attention to our surroundings, moved gently, breathed, listened, and walked.
I loved seeing how a simple change of environment and pace can create a little more space to pause, reconnect and reset.
It also reminded me how important it is to give our bodies and minds opportunities to move differently during the workday.
As a certified Flexibility and Mobility Coach, I also offer a practical workshop specifically designed for corporate workers:
"Move Well at Work: Postural Care for the Corporate Body." This workshop focuses on simple, accessible tools for caring for the body during the workday, including:
• Neck and shoulder mobility
• Upper back and chest opening
• Arms, wrists and hands for keyboard and mouse users
• Postural awareness and the importance of changing positions throughout the day
• Simple 2–5 minute “movement breaks” that can be done at your desk
• Easy self-care techniques for releasing tension and maintaining mobility
The goal isn’t to find the “perfect posture.” It’s to help people move more, move better and develop greater awareness of what their bodies need throughout the day.
If you’re looking for fresh ways to support movement, mobility and wellbeing in your corporate environment, I’d be happy to bring this workshop to your team.
Wellness in the workplace is no longer a "nice to have" but an "essential to have" in keeping our dear colleagues healthy and happy.
