Last Chance: Your $2,000 Ticket to London 2026 is Closing Soon! 🇬🇧✈️

Time is officially running out to secure your funding for the most anticipated neuroradiology event of the quadrennial. The World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies (WFNRS) is offering six Travelling Grants of up to $2,000 each to help the next generation of leaders attend the XXIII Symposium Neuroradiologicum, the 49th ESNR Annual Meeting, and the BSNR Annual Meeting in London!

If you’ve been putting off your application, this is your final wake-up call.

🔍 Quick Eligibility Check:
Before you apply, make sure you hit the checklist outlined in 1 (2).jpg:

Professional Status: You are a Radiologist or Neuroradiologist.

Early Career: Under 40 years old, currently in training, or within 3 years of completion.

Global Community: A member in “”good standing”” of a WFNRS member society (e.g., ASNR, ESNR, AOSNR).

International Talent: Working at an institution outside of Europe (exceptions for distance may be considered upon request).

SWI is a cornerstone for detecting venous hypertension in intracranial dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs)—but the morphological spectrum and clinical meaning of parenchymal hypointensities are where real-world reading skill matters.

In this single-center cohort, gyral hypointensity (GH) on SWI emerged as a marker of decompensated venous hypertension, identifying high-grade shunts, retrograde leptomeningeal drainage, and exhausted collateral capacity—not a benign incidental finding. Morphology predicts reversibility: brush-like GH reflects early, reversible parenchymal stress that typically resolves after shunt obliteration, while band-like GH signals more advanced venous injury with limited recovery. When GH coexists with FLAIR or DWI abnormalities, it should be read as an imminent-risk sign of venous ischemia and a trigger for timely endovascular treatment—not watchful waiting. The key pitfall: don’t mistake GH for clustered microhemorrhages or hemosiderin.
