May & June moments 🌸☀️🧘‍♂️

A little recap of two very full months ✨

2 → Off to India 🇮🇳✈️
Because apparently even long-haul flights are an opportunity for a little stretching 😅

3 → One of the most unforgettable experiences: sharing yoga with around 600 children 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️🤍

4–5 → A little stop in Mysore
Enjoying some yoga time at the hotel before continuing the journey.

6 → Visiting the beautiful Mysore Palace ✨🇮🇳

7–8 → Enjoying some more time in Goa, between yoga, exploring and everyday moments in India 🌴

9 → Leaving India from Bangalore Airport ✈️
Definitely one of the prettiest airports to say goodbye from 🌿

10–11 → Another Yoga Immersion Day 🕉️
A full day diving deeper into traditional yoga through practice, philosophy, Sanskrit, mantra, stories, food and community.

12 → Purple showing off again 🌸

13 → Sharing yoga at Yamayoga 🧘‍♂️✨

14 → A beautiful private yoga event & brunch for more than 20 people 🧘‍♀️🍛 Yoga, Indian food and a wonderful group to share it all with.

15 → Our two cats making sure everything is under control at the entrance 🐈🐈‍⬛😅

16 → More Yoga & Chai moments ☕🧘‍♂️
Because practice is always a little better when chai comes afterwards.

17 → Our monthly Yoga Brunch 🥭🍛🧘‍♀️
Yoga, philosophy, homemade Indian food and community around the same table. 🤍

Two months filled with travel, teaching, India, Switzerland, yoga, food, new experiences and beautiful people. 🇮🇳🇨🇭✨

Grateful for all the big adventures and all the little moments in between. 🙏

🧘‍♂️ The biggest misconception about yoga?

That it’s about becoming flexible or mastering impressive poses. 🤸‍♀️

Handstands, splits, and advanced postures can be a part of someone’s practice, but they are not the goal of yoga. 🙏

🕉️ Traditional yoga is a path of self-transformation. It includes movement, but also breath (prāṇāyāma) 🌬️, meditation 🧘, philosophy 📖, ethical living 🤍, self-inquiry ✨, and learning to be fully present.

If you’ve ever said, « I’m not flexible enough to do yoga, » know that this idea comes from seeing yoga primarily through a modern fitness lens. 👀 In the traditional practice, flexibility is not a requirement—it may simply become a beautiful by-product of regular practice. 🌱

You don’t start yoga because you’re flexible.

You start yoga to connect more deeply with yourself. 💛

✨ The real practice isn’t about touching your toes.
It’s about what happens within you along the way.

🌀 A healthy spine doesn’t only bend… it rotates.

This gentle supine spinal twist helps maintain spinal mobility while encouraging controlled movement through the thoracic and lumbar spine. By moving with the breath rather than forcing the stretch, you also engage the deep core muscles that support and stabilize the lower back.

✨ Benefits
• Maintains spinal mobility
• Activates the deep core
• May help reduce lower back stiffness
• Improves rotational flexibility

Remember: this isn’t about going as far as possible. It’s about moving slowly, breathing deeply, and allowing each vertebra to participate in the movement.

🌬️ Inhale to lengthen. Exhale to rotate.

If you’d like to learn how to practice movements like this safely and understand why they work, join us at .spirits in Vevey. Our classes combine traditional yoga with modern anatomical understanding to help you move with greater awareness, confidence, and ease.

🕉️ Mahā Mṛtyuñjaya Mantra 🙏

oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe
sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam
urvārukam iva bandhanān
mṛtyor mukṣīya mā’mṛtāt

✨ Translation:

“We worship the Three-Eyed One (Shiva), who is fragrant and nourishes all beings. May He liberate us from bo***ge to death, just as a ripe cucumber is released from its vine, but not from immortality.”

🌿 Known as the “Great Death-Conquering Mantra,” this ancient Vedic prayer is dedicated to Shiva, the Three-Eyed One (Tryambaka).

💫 Contrary to a common misconception, the mantra is not primarily about avoiding physical death. It is a prayer for liberation from fear, attachment, and the limitations that prevent us from experiencing our true nature.

🥒 The imagery is beautiful: just as a ripe cucumber naturally separates from its vine, we pray to be released from suffering and bo***ge, while remaining connected to the immortal essence within.

🕯️ Traditionally chanted for healing, protection, inner strength, and spiritual growth, this mantra reminds us that true freedom comes not from controlling life, but from awakening to what lies beyond fear.

🕉️ Om Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ 🙏
