Shawn Murphy worked his way through high school and college first as a body shop mechanic and then as a machinist. Working as an aerospace engineer for General Dynamics, he started by engineering solutions for production errors on the F-16. And then helped retrofit the F16 with stealth improvements on the existing aircraft. He advanced to become a lead engineer on the Navy’s stealth A-12 program,
responsible for all the perimeter structure and its stealth characteristics. Murphy received a master in engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Texas Christian University, where he became the portfolio manager of the William C Conner foundation. With his experience as an engineer and education in finance, Shawn helped start an institutional asset management company in Lichtenstein, where he became the chief investment officer and equity partner. He continued his work study regime, received the first CFA in Lichtenstein, and then learned how to speak German through the study of philosophy and history in the same language. After the sale of the Lichtenstein company, Shawn partnered with his client in Bermuda and set up an asset management company in Bermuda to focus on the captive insurance industry. While in Bermuda, Shawn started helping entrepreneurs realize their potential and vision first by helping set up a DMTV in partnership with the Bermuda Broadcasting Corporation, and then later setting up MediaMine in California in partnership with a Warner Brothers executive. After moving to Switzerland in 2020, he created Shawn T Murphy Advisory, providing advisory services to entrepreneurs, clairvoyants and those suffering spiritual illnesses. As a member of the Young President’s Organization, Mr. Murphy has chaired a number of global networks in the area of social enterprise, focusing on disadvantaged children and education. Lifelong learning has been a major theme in his life, and he's taken it one step further to be a mentor for others in all walks of life, through his books, papers and blogs.
