We are so happy after just wrapping up a powerful mobile clinic in Bambili, offering free ANC, IWC, nutrition talks, and SRHR support to over 100 teenage and young mothers, children, and families. This is what community-rooted, youth-centered care looks like.

Weekly – Puberty: When & How to Start Talking With Girls

In Cameroon and across Africa, many girls face puberty before they face proper information. 🌧️ A first period can feel like a curse. Breast development becomes gossip. Mood swings are mistaken for rebellion.

So when should parents start the conversation?

✅ Early. Before the changes begin—so girls know what’s normal.
✅ Clearly. No myths, no shame—just facts and love.
✅ Together. SRHR education isn’t just for schools—it starts in homes, with trust.

Studies show that girls who receive honest, age-appropriate s*x ed before puberty feel safer and make healthier choices later. They’re also less likely to believe harmful rumors or seek answers from unsafe sources.

This week, let’s break the silence. Start the chat. Because being informed is more empowering than being surprised.
