One thing that troubles me in many movies!

A man ill treats his wife, and his family joins him to make her miserable. Eventually, she is sent back to her parent's house.
Not long after, he marries another woman.
The new wife turns out not to be the angel they had imagined. Suddenly, everyone develops wisdom. The husband repents, the mother -inlaw regrets and the man's family organizes a delegation to go bring her back.

My question.....

Why is it always assumed that this woman is readily available, and that she pressed a pause on her life, waiting to be reclaimed?

While they married a new wife and later were learning their lessons, why is it never considered that the first woman too is healing.

Why is it often portrayed that it takes a few delegation, kolanuts, palm wine and wise sayings to hand this lady back to the man?

Why is it never thought that while she was away, she rediscovered her worth and she's crafting a better life for herself.

Why do these stories always portray women like a book that you could throw away, and pick up again anytime you want to finish a chapter?

If someone sends you away and later on realizes your value, are you obligated to be waiting when they return?
