Tuesday, August 18, 2026, we witnessed a Technical Handover Ceremony at Bamenda Regional Hospital, marking the transition of leadership from the outgoing Director, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ฌ, to the incoming Director, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ค๐๐ฆ.
Presiding over the ceremony was the ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ.
In his address, the Regional Delegate commended ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ฌ for ๐จ๐๐ซ๐๐ฃ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ง๐จ ๐ค๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ก๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐ก๐๐๐๐๐ง๐จ๐๐๐ฅ characterized by excellence, infrastructure development, and improved quality of healthcare delivery in the North West Region. He lauded the ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ for its unwavering support.
Charging the new leadership, the Regional Delegate called on ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ค๐๐ฆ to consolidate the gains made and to work assiduously to further improve healthcare services for the population of the North West Region.
In his valedictory remarks, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ฌ expressed profound gratitude to the authorities, staff, and partners for their support during his seven-year tenure. He acknowledged the difficult context of the socio-political crisis during which he served, and pledged his continued availability and support to the new administration.
In his acceptance speech, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ค๐๐ฆ outlined the vision that will guide his mandate. His leadership will be anchored on ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ:

The strength of BRH is its staff doctors, nurses, lab, pharmacy, admin, cleaners, security, everyone. Success requires teamwork, respect, and shared responsibility. โ๐ผ ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐จ ๐ค๐ฃ๐ก๐ฎ ๐๐จ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐จ ๐๐ฉ๐จ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฉ ๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ .โ

We will protect good initiatives and partnerships. But we will not be complacent. Where systems can work better, we must improve them. Where patients deserve better, we must do better.

All public resources will be managed transparently and responsibly. Professionalism must be seen in our technical competence, in how we treat patients, and in how faithfully we perform our duties.
The ceremony was also attended by ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ฒ๐จ๐ก ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐, Secretary General of the North-West Regional Assembly, representing ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ ๐
๐ซ๐ฎ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐, Chairman of the Hospital Management Board and President of the Regional Executive Council.
The handing over reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Public Health to institutional continuity, effective leadership, and accountability in the delivery of healthcare services.
