We are honoured to share that our founder has been recognised as a QECT 100 Young Leaders Awardee 2026 by The Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust, commemorating what would have been the 100th birthday of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

This recognition celebrates young leaders across the Commonwealth who are driving meaningful change in their communities. At Gifted Hands & Healing Voices, we remain committed to fostering mental wellness and inclusion through art, and amplifying the voices of vulnerable groups in Cameroon and beyond.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the British High Commission in Cameroon and the QECT team for amplifying this announcement and supporting youth leadership across the Commonwealth.

🌈 My Colour, My Voice — Visit to Divine Touch Orphanage 💫

The aim of this visit was simple but powerful: to give children at Divine Touch Orphanage, Alakuma a safe space to express themselves through art, music, and creativity, and to celebrate their individuality and voices.

When there is a voice to guide, a shoulder to lean on, a hand to hold, you feel complete… but what if you never had that? A reflection that takes every caring heart off guard.

Caring hearts like the EnowAgbor Foundation, in partnership with Gifted Hands and Healing Voices, and a formidable team of volunteers, came together with a common goal — to bring out what these children had within them, and what others saw in them.

Through colors, beads, and music, the children expressed themselves, celebrated one another, and shared their voices through every smile, every dance step, and every song — each echoing a simple truth: “I see you, and I would love to see you again.” 🎨✨

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, whose time, energy, and creativity made every activity joyful and meaningful. And to the EnowAgbor Foundation, for your generous support in making this outreach possible. Together, we continue to nurture resilience, inclusion, and hope through the power of creative expression. 💚

🌈 Helping Kids Express Themselves Through Arts 🎨

On 26th October, the Gifted Hands and Healing Voices team will visit Divine Touch Orphanage, Alakuma for a creative session titled:

✨ “My Colors, My Voice” ✨

Through hand-drawing and colorful bead bracelets, the children will:
💛 Express what they love about themselves
💚 Share what they appreciate in others
💙 Build connections in a safe, creative, and joyful environment

This visit is all about helping kids find their voices through colors and art — celebrating confidence, kindness, and creativity.

🌍✨ Young Leaders for Arts & Health – Bamenda Summit ✨🌍
Theme: Creative Pathways to Well-being

What an inspiring day it was! 💡💭
From powerful panel discussions on the intersection of arts and health with incredible voices including New Breed Africa, Centre for Research and Practice of Arts-Related Therapies (CeFoRPAT), and many others, to the lively painting workshop, slam poetry, and soulful music by guitarist Fanka Elvis 🎶🎨🖌️—the summit was filled with creativity, reflection, and connection.

We had the privilege of serving as co-host, MC, and panelist, sharing insights on how creative arts blend with nursing through the lens of nursing theorists. It was beautiful to see how the arts spark conversations on healing and help us break the stigma surrounding mental health. 💚

This summit is part Young Leaders For Arts and Health Health initiative, founded by the Arts In Medicine Fellowship in collaboration with the Commonwealth Leadership Institute, to nurture change-makers leveraging creativity for health and well-being.

🎤WORKSHOP REFLECTION: HEALING THROUGH CREATIVITY

In our very first session with the Special Needs Entrepreneur Group in Bamenda, Cameroon, we witnessed something more than participation. We saw healing, connection and remembrance.

Through collective poetry, mindfulness and pencil art exhibitions, participants opened up in ways we never imagined and here's what we found.
💓88.9% felt more emotionally connected
💓100% wanted to return for another session
💓one participant said "Let's include them in our prayers"
And of course, there were lots of smiles🥰🥰🥰

🎥Mental Health Awareness and Drug Abuse Sensitization🎥

To mark the 25th edition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Core Rehabilitation Center - C.R.C, in partnership with Gifted Hands and Healing Voices, organized a powerful onsite walk from the university campus to ENS Street.

The awareness campaign focused on the harms of drug abuse, mental health challenges, and emphasized on how creative arts can support healing and emotional well-being.

As part of our awareness campaign, this video invites you into a powerful intersection of dementia and the arts - highlighting how ordinary art activities done together draw out something deeply human in us. They don't just make us smile but awaken the inner child who longs to belong, to reach out, to be seen and most importantly to remember what it feels like to be safe.
