Through CDC-PEPFAR funding, Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) conducted two trainings on method validation and verification and risk management for participants from 11 SLIPTA laboratories in Kinshasa, Haut-Katanga, and Lualaba, including Clinique Universitaire Lubumbashi and Laboratoire National de Référence des Mycobactéries preparing for their first accreditation assessments.
Held from 01 to 04 September and 07 to 10 September 2026, the trainings strengthened laboratory professionals' capacity to ensure reliable, accurate test results through effective method validation and verification, while equipping them to implement a documented risk management approach aligned with ISO 15189:2022 requirements.
43 laboratory professionals participated, gaining practical skills to verify and validate laboratory methods, manage measurement uncertainty, conduct risk assessments, maintain quality documentation, and improve the traceability of laboratory results.
Moving forward, GHSS will continue to support participating laboratories in strengthening implementation, addressing gaps, and accelerating progress toward accreditation.
