CHEMOTHERAPY DOES NOT KILL IF WELL ADMINISTERED/TAKEN… Part 2
People always ask… “Why does chemotherapy cause so many adverse effects?”
Simple answer… it is a drug.
A foreign substance to the body, just like any other drug. So yes, it will have side effects.
What makes chemotherapy different is its mechanism of action, in simple terms what it does in the body.
First, what is cancer?
Cancer is a disease of the genes where abnormal cells grow uncontrollably and can spread to other parts of the body.
Now, chemotherapy works by affecting cells in different ways depending on the drug. It can interfere with DNA formation, damage DNA, or stop cells from dividing.
So you can already see the issue… these drugs are not very selective. They mostly target rapidly dividing cells.
The problem is, some normal cells also divide fast. That is why we see side effects in areas like the digestive system, the blood, the skin and hair, and sometimes the nerves and heart.
But here is the key thing…
These side effects are not a surprise. Doctors and pharmacists already know them and, in many cases, know how to prevent or manage them.
So they are not just given blindly. They are controlled.
So guys, you can see clearly that…
CHEMOTHERAPY DOES NOT KILL.
When properly used, it actually saves lives. END!!!
