The theme for World Mental Health Day 2025 is "Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies." This theme highlights the urgent need to provide mental health support to individuals affected by humanitarian crises, such as natural disasters, conflicts, and public health emergencies. It emphasizes the importance of ensuring that mental health services are accessible to all, especially in times of crisis, to prevent long-term harm and promote resilience and recovery .

The theme also underscores the significance of prioritizing mental health care and providing psychological support to those impacted by crises. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in five people in conflict-affected areas are estimated to have a mental health condition, making it essential to address the mental health needs of individuals and communities affected by emergencies .

By focusing on this theme, World Mental Health Day 2025 aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health support during crises and to promote action to improve access to mental health services for those who need them most.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet it's often shrouded in stigma and silence. It's time to change this narrative and create a culture where mental health discussions are normalized and encouraged.

Join us on the 10th October 2025 on our community discussion.
Let's break the stigma

🧠 Over 1 billion people are living with mental health issues like anxiety and depression — a huge challenge for individuals and economies worldwide.

*These conditions can lead to:*

🔹 Sadness
🔹 Difficulty working
🔹 Loss of life

In 2021 alone, around 727,000 lives were lost to su***de.

➡️ Despite some progress, most countries spend just 2% of health budgets on mental health, and access remains limited, especially in poorer nations.

🙁 Stigma, lack of resources, and slow reforms mean millions don’t get the care they need.

*WHO urges governments and partners to act urgently:*

💵 Increase funding
📜 Reform laws
👨🏽‍⚕️ Train more mental health workers
🧑🏾‍🤝‍🧑🏽 Focus on community-based care

Mental health isn’t a privilege — it’s a human right.

LET'S TALK ADDICTION

People don't just wake up one morning to say "OK, that's it! I've had enough," then they put down the bottle or pill or needle and never use again.
You might have tried And failed before to cut back on or eliminate your substance use..
Change is a process that that typically follows the stages of

PRECONTEMPLATION, when you are still happy to continue drinking or drugging damning any harmful consequences,

CONTEMPLATION, , recognizing you have a problem with drinking or drugging, thinking about the benefits and costs of using but doing nothing about it right away,

PREPARATION, starting to make small changes in your behavior, maybe setting a future date when you will quit or seek help,

ACTION taking a definite action by quitting or going for rehab,

MAINTAIANCE,, when you have stopped using and continued to abstain for around six months,
RELAPSE, when you've tried quitting many times but keep falling back to it.
While relapse is common, it's not inevitable.
I just want to let you know that EVERY DAY IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO START AGAIN.
We are readily available to help you navigate these stages.
