There are people who think getting purple marks from cupping is due to medical malpractice. This is incorrect. After performing cupping, people will get different colored marks, which represent the kind of issues they have in their bodies. A pale color means there is a deficiency of blood or Qi, a purple mark means there is a stagnation of blood or Qi, meaning blood or Qi isn’t moving smoothly in your body, and a pink mark represent a healthy blood flow.

Look at all the different colors that you can see~

My patient’s facial swelling has subdued almost completely, after 3 acupuncture treatments.

One of the greatest things about acupuncture is that it helps the body recover even when western doctors don’t have any answers.

My patient came in with sudden facial swelling. Noticeable on her eyelids, nose, cheeks and lips. Her 1st acupuncture treatment made the swelling go down a bit. She also went to see a western doctor which couldn’t say exactly what could have caused this, but recommended her to continue acupuncture treatments until it completely subdues. Finally, after 3 acupuncture treatments, she is feeling back to normal~

We all have both Yin and Yang in our bodies. Yin and Yang are opposite, yet complementary energies, which is why its important to do and eat everything in moderation. Too much Yang food for example can injure the body, and too much Yin food is also harmful. A balance of both Yin and Yang are essential to be healthy.

The Yin and Yang theory is fundamental to the practice of TCM in terms of understanding, diagnosing, and treating health problems.

Most public hospitals here in China are like this one. There are multiple beds in one room. In this hospital we have 8 beds per room. All the timers are set at the same time and once the timer goes off, the next 8 patients can come in. Its a very different experience compared to most acupuncture clinics in the U.S., right?

Yin Foods vs. Yang Foods

There are several different ways to balance your body, one of the ways is with food. Some foods are considered Yin foods, which generate cold or cool the energy in your body and some foods are considered Yang foods, which generate warmth, there are even foods that are neutral.

Have you ever felt cold or hot in a room where nobody else feels the same way? This is a possible sign of having too much yin or yang in your body.

By eating an adequate amount of yin and yang foods (according to your body constitution) you can help balance your body and make yourself feel better. You will begin to feel less cold/hot, sleep better, have regular bowel movements etc.

Have you tried this before?

This book is called ‘Traditional Chinese Medicine Made Easy!’
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is usually a difficult topic to understand, but this book simplifies TCM theories, useful acupressure points, food therapy, and tea recipes. (Link in my bio)
