There are people who think getting purple marks from cupping is due to medical malpractice. This is incorrect. After performing cupping, people will get different colored marks, which represent the kind of issues they have in their bodies. A pale color means there is a deficiency of blood or Qi, a purple mark means there is a stagnation of blood or Qi, meaning blood or Qi isn’t moving smoothly in your body, and a pink mark represent a healthy blood flow.
