💡 🌏 Highlights from the 4th ANCCA Annual Scientific Conference
1–2 November 2025 | Beijing, China! Amazing gathering of collaborators in the Asian region 🥰
The Asian National Cancer Centers Alliance (ANCCA) held its 4th Annual Scientific Conference on 1–2 November 2025 at the Beijing Conference Center, hosted by the National Cancer Center China . Representatives from 21 member countries and regions joined the in-person meeting, reaffirming our shared commitment to strengthening cancer control across Asia.
Over two days, members discussed key themes central to cancer care and research in the region:
• Cancer prevention
• Screening programmes
• Innovations in treatment and diagnosis
• Palliative care
• Survivorship
The conference also included a High-Level Leadership Meeting and oral and poster sessions highlighting projects and progress from across the Alliance.
We thank all speakers, delegates, and organisers for their contributions. Each exchange — whether in formal sessions or informal conversations — helps us deepen collaboration and move closer to our collective goal: improving cancer outcomes for all people in Asia.

Nearly 30 participants from across Asia joined the conversation, a great momentum as we are preparing for the ANCCA Scientific Annual Conference on November 1–2 in Beijing. Looking forward to continued collaboration and impact with ANCCA members, across the region and beyond!

The Hackathon of the Asia Pacific Oncology Alliance in Kuala Lumpur Aug 27-28 📚😊

Around 30 leaders from various sectors, including clinicians, cancer centers, government, academia, pharma, patient representatives, and data specialists, collaborated intensively to address shared challenges and opportunities specific to the Asian region. The discussions were focused on developing actionable steps and projects to drive meaningful system change and improve cancer survivorship throughout the Asia Pacific.

Part 3 - Loved Singapore 🇸🇬 while in Singapore!
The first 3 days I I enjoyed Annual meeting of the Asian Brain Tumor Society, a special thanks Melissa Lim, and all APBTA members and A**O organizers, learned a lot and connected a lot….
Then, visit to my NCC Singapore friends William Hwang, Ezzah, who introduced me to Singapore Cancer Society passionate team! Great to discover the new facility and training center and enjoy long discussions.

No doubts, very exciting and meaningful to collaborate against cancers with friends from the Asian continent, where we all have such diverse histories, cultures, geographies, etc

🔍 Exploring Patient Engagement in Global Oncology at ASCO! 🔍

I'm very honored and happy to present at the ASCO Inaugural Global Oncology Community of Practice session, on May 31st! I’ll discuss "Assessing patient engagement levels in clinical cancer research: Development of a novel evaluation tool and comparison between eastern and western countries."

This topic is a collaborative effort involving many dedicated colleagues and patient advocates. Let's connect and exchange insights on enhancing patient engagement, and cancer research and control globally (brain tumors and rare cancers included).

It’s a wrap!

Glad to have had a successful scientific conference of the Asian National Cancer Centre Alliance.
We had two intensive days of talks and discussions
200 attendees and 80 overseas delegates representing 50% of the world population.
We also had 42 abstracts received, 12 oral presenters, and 9 poster presenters
Much thanks to our 7 sponsors who made this all possible.
Collaborations with IARC and C/Can being explored further.
Looking forward to the work we can do together to share the experience and influence global cancer policy!
