Common troubles of diaphragm suction apparatus
Compared with the sliding vane suction device, diaphragm suction device with low noise and stabilization. Because of its structure and circuit is relatively complex, failure rate and maintenance is corresponding to high.
a). Manual switch is normal, foot switch is unresponsive
The manual switch is normal, that the machine circuit can operate normally. The manual switch is normal, that the machine circuit can operate normally.
There are two reason: 1). broken circuit 2).Micro switch failure
In this case, we replace the large electric shock reed.
b). Negative suction is insufficient
This is more complicated. There are four general case.
1). Rubber aging pipeline break, leak or loose connections is not binding-------Replace the rubber tube, then firmly.
2).Operational fault:Two bottles must be used as required and marked with liquid level. However, in the course of use, some people only use one bottle, the body waste into the pump inlet, resulting in lack suction or even no suction-------Unplug the rubber tube, clean the filter, re-connect.
3).The air intake is blown outside.
Pump air inlet diaphragm is not close, Remove the pump, clean or replace the diaphragm.

Electric suction device common faults and maintenance
1.Fault phenomena and overhaul
1.1 Light does not shine
Reason: (1) Light poor contact or burned
(2) Power is not available
(3) Fuse poor contact or burned
(4) Transformer burned out
(5) Plug wire break
Troubleshooting: Check the power supply with a multimeter for alternating current. Check the fuse with a multimeter for problems.
Check whether the internal wiring for breaks. Adjust the multimeter to R×1KΩ for measuring the power supply to the transformer primary winding voltage. If the transformer is broken, it must be replaced.
1.2 Low negative pressure after starting
Reason: (1) The pressure adjustment k**b is disabled.
(2) Safety valve leak.
(3) Rubber tube and joint leak.
Troubleshooting: Start to observe whether the negative pressure table has changed. Open the safety valve and check for leaks inside.
Check the internal piping connection to see if the connector is off.
1.3 Motor does not turn, big noise
Reason: (1) The vacuum pump rust or stuck
(2) The motor can not start
Troubleshooting: Turn the motor impeller to see if it is rotating, if not rotated, the vacuum pump stuck. Disassemble the vacuum pump and then restart it. If it is not working properly, it is generally believed that the starting capacitor is damaged.
Measuring capacitance method: Adjust the multimeter to R×1KΩ or R×10KΩ. A) Table needle bias 0 then slowly return to move than hundreds, this resistance is the capacitor leakage resistance. B) The needle does not return, indicating that the capacitor is shorted. C) The needle does not move, indicating that the capacitor is broken. After the capacitor is detected, replace the same type of starting capacitor.
1.4 The foot switch can not be used
Reason: (1) Foot switch internal spring elastic variation or shifting.
(2) The cable is disconnected
Troubleshooting: Open the foot switch, observe the internal structure of any abnormalities.
2.Maintenance of electric suction device
1)The plug should not be placed in a wet place. So as not to cause a short circuit.
2)Liquid bottle should not be too full to prevent overflow burn out the motor.

Tracheostomysuctioning removes thick mucus and secretions from the trachea and lower airway that you are not able to clear by coughing. Suctioning is done when you wake up in the morning and right before you go to bed in the evening. Suctioning is also done after any respiratory treatments.

Have a moist cough that does not clear secretions.
Are unable to effectively clear secretions from the throat.
Are having difficulty breathing or feel that you can not get enough air.
Will suctioning hurt?
No. Suctioning should not cause pain. You may feel short of breath and you may cough, but these are normal reactions and should not be painful.

The suction machine should be used in a well-lit area. Place the machine on a sturdy surface that will support the weight of the suction machine, such as a table or desk.

Care of tracheotomy equipment
Keep enough supplies available at all times.
Replace collection canisters, connecting tubing, and suction catheters that are hard or cracked.
Empty the canister every night or when it becomes half-full.
Disinfect reusable equipment (the canister, canister lid, and suction tubing).
Every night, soak the equipment for 15 minutes in a basin or sink filled with warm water and dish detergent.
Every third night, soak the canister, the lid, and the suction tubing for 30 minutes in a solution of three parts water and one part vinegar.
Rinse the equipment completely.
Dry the equipment with clean towels.
Reassemble the equipment.
