My practice integrates Rolfing and selected tactics from monks, yogis, healers, and shamans with whom I have studied and often debated over the past 15 years. Rolfing employs a deep, high pressure, slow touch that shifts deep tensions in bone and connective tissue resulting in less pain and more healthiness in the body. More specifically Rolfing is a hands on therapy that works sequentially throug
h the body over a series of sessions. Each session focusing on one specific anatomical relationship in the body, and improves mobility and health in the region. The work is super focused, and informed by anatomical scientific understanding. The Rolfing training is a 500+ hour hands on training that meets all US certifications for therapeutic professional touch in the USA. While I love classic Rolfing the more fascinating thing is "the magic". When you open your heart, still your mind, put your hands on someone and listen, the fun begins. Interestingly almost every culture in the world has a tradition of exploring and talking about the felt sense of subtle animating forces which are palpable through touch. My deep fascination with these elusive, animating properties of life has brought me into contact with a variety of monks, shamans, yogis, healers, and acupuncturists over the past 15 years. Some I studied with for over a decade, some for a weekend, most I just called out as charlatans!
