We care about your body and the products you have access to. Welcome to the home of the Pit Stick. My favorite job is being a mama to two sweet boys!

I'm a natural/safe body care products maker, an aromatherapist, an herbalist, a birth doula, and a YL essential oils slinger. I like to construct with fibers. I like to take photos. I like to hang out with my chickens and grow stuff. I like to help people. I ski, I hike, I run, I play in the mountains, and always feel lucky when I spot a rainbow. This is my quest to make the most of the life I'm g

iven and share our snips of life with you. I imagine many of you are visiting to learn a bit more about essential oils and I hope I get the privilege of being the person to teach you. St. John's Wort has a corner in my garden, and if you keep your eyes peeled - along nearly every trail. I planted her in a sunny corner and she came into full bloom this summer with bright yellow flowers. Pinch one of her buds and it stains your fingers a deep reddish-purple, which is that signature red pigment at work. It's the same compound that turns a jar of infused oil a rich ruby color, ready to become a salve for winter. She has a long history of use for skin and nerve care, and she's become one of my favorites to grow. 🌿

Meet Ballhead Waterleaf 💜 She cradles water droplets right in her leaves, which is exactly how she got her name. This little early-season wildflower is edible AND medicinal. Cook her up like a spring green, or bruise the leaves into a poultice for insect bites and minor skin irritations. She is a gentle, accessible plant medicine you might find right on a forest walk. The May Tea Nook is here, and it is fresh. 🌿

This month’s cup is Lemon Balm, Mint & Star Anise - May in a Gratitude mug.

I gathered fresh mint and lemon balm from my yard. Then I added one beautiful star anise from a stash Shane brought home from India.

A little homegrown green magic. A little faraway spice. One happy cup of tea.

Lemon balm is one of my favorite gentle herbs for nervous system support and a calm, uplifted mood. Mint brings that fresh garden brightness and is lovely after meals. Star anise adds a sweet, warming depth that makes the whole cup feel extra special.

I steeped the fresh herbs with one star anise for 10 mins. This would make a lovely sun tea and would probably be DELISH iced. Psst: The Full Moon is coming, you could steep it under the moon for bonus magic.
