The ideal pool temperature for kids’ swim lessons is 29°C to 30°C 💦
Warm enough to keep little swimmers comfortable, relaxed, and ready to learn in the pool. For babies and younger toddlers, 31°C can be even better for a happier swim session 🌊

🌊💦 Why learning to swim is one of the best gifts you can give your child 💦🌊

Swimming is more than just a fun activity—it’s a life skill with lifelong benefits:

✅ Water Safety – The most important benefit! Kids who learn to swim develop the skills to keep themselves safer around water.
✅ Confidence Boost – Every new skill mastered in the pool builds self-esteem and courage, both in and out of the water.
✅ Strength & Body Awareness – Swimming works the whole body, improving muscle tone, balance, and coordination.
✅ Brain Development – Research shows swimming supports cognitive growth, motor skills, and even social skills.

From safety to confidence, from physical strength to mental growth—swimming truly makes waves in every part of a child’s development. 🌟💜💛💚

Exhale through BOTH nose and mouth!"

For a smooth, comfortable swim, controlled exhaling happens through your mouth and nose.
That’s why in every lesson we make time for underwater breathing exercises – it’s the secret to swimming with ease! 🏊‍♂️✨

💦 Big reminder for all parents! 💦
Please start getting your little ones used to water early! It becomes much harder to teach children aged 4, 5, or 6 to put their face in the water if they haven’t had that exposure from a young age.

🌟 You don’t need a pool to begin—try fun water play in the bath or shower. Gently pour water over their heads, let them splash, and make it part of their routine.

👶 A child must feel confident going under to learn how to swim properly. Let's build water confidence early!

✨Goggles or no goggles?✨

At Swim with Mel, we love using goggles — but only once little swimmers are comfortable underwater without them first! 🏊‍♀️

Goggles can help boost confidence, reduce eye irritation, and make exploring underwater feel like magic 🧜‍♀️🔍… but we always teach water safety and submersion without relying on them. Why? Because if your child ever falls into water, they probably won’t be wearing goggles!

👶💧 Start with face-in-water skills naturally (even at bath time!)
😎 Then introduce goggles as a fun bonus — not a must-have!

Swim Tip: Why Does My 3-Year-Old Burp After Going Underwater?

Ever noticed your little swimmer letting out a big burp after popping up from under the water? Don’t worry—it’s super common and totally normal! Here's why:

🌬️ They’re Swallowing Air
When learning breath control, toddlers often accidentally gulp air (or a little water!) instead of holding their breath. Their body’s natural response? A burp!

🥤 It Might Be a Bit of Pool Water Too
Learning to seal their lips underwater takes practice, and tiny sips of water sometimes sneak in!

🫁 Breath Control Is Still Developing
At 3 years old, breathing in, holding it, and exhaling underwater is a big skill—and it takes time to master.

A HUGE SWIMMING TIP!!!!!!!
Face in = FOUNDATION for swimming!
Before little ones can master kicking and body position, they need to be completely comfortable with having their face in the water. DO THIS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

From proper alignment to strong kicks, it all starts with confidence underwater. Start early!
Even bath time is a perfect chance to gently practice submerging the face and blowing bubbles. 🛁✨

Let's build water confidence from day one! 💜💛💚

🌈 Floating into calm... 🌊

Finishing off a lesson with a relaxing float is one of the best ways to help children feel confident and calm in the water. 🌞✨

Floating teaches body awareness, breathing control, and balance, all key water safety skills. Plus, it’s the perfect way to unwind and end on a peaceful, positive note. 💜

Let’s make every swim a moment to float, breathe, and feel good
