❓FAQ | How Often Should You Get an Eye Examination?
Many eye conditions develop gradually and without noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Regular eye examinations are not only important for maintaining clear vision - they are also essential for protecting your long-term eye health.
At Pantheo Eye Center, we recommend comprehensive eye examinations even for individuals who feel their vision is “perfect,” as conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and retinal disorders may progress silently before affecting vision.
General guidelines include:
• Children: First comprehensive eye assessment during early childhood, followed by routine monitoring as recommended by your ophthalmologist
• Adults aged 18–40: Every 1–2 years, depending on visual needs and medical history
• Adults over 40: Annual examinations are strongly advised, as age-related eye conditions become more common
• Patients with diabetes, hypertension, high myopia, or a family history of eye disease: More frequent follow-up may be necessary
A routine eye examination can evaluate:
✔ Visual acuity and prescription changes
✔ Eye pressure and glaucoma risk
✔ Cataract development
✔ Retinal and optic nerve health
✔ Signs of systemic diseases affecting the eyes
Early detection remains one of the most important factors in preserving healthy vision.
If you have noticed blurred vision, headaches, eye fatigue, dryness, or difficulty seeing at night, it may be time to schedule an evaluation.
Your vision deserves expert care at every stage of life 💙
