These sensory water tiles may look like “just play”… but there is so much happening underneath the surface 🌈💧

As children step, press, crawl, jump and watch the colours move, their brains are constantly processing sensory information. This type of play supports:
✨ sensory regulation
✨ visual attention and tracking
✨ balance and body awareness
✨ motor planning and coordination
✨ curiosity, problem-solving and experimentation

Most importantly, it encourages children to explore through movement, touch and play — the way they naturally learn best.

Sometimes the simplest activities create the richest opportunities for development 🤍

Selective eating can feel overwhelming for families 🍽️💭

When a child is selective with food, it is easy to fall into pressure, negotiations, or “just take one more bite.” But creating healthy boundaries around mealtimes does not mean forcing or controlling. It means offering structure, consistency, and a safe space for exploration as beautifully describes.

Parents decide what, when, and where food is offered. Children learn to decide whether and how much they eat ✨

Small steps, reduced pressure, and positive experiences can go a long way in building a healthier relationship with food.

Episode 18 🎙️ with Ioanna Masoura, Nutritionist with a Specialisation in Public Health & Nutrition

Food exploration starts long before children actually eat it 🍓👶🏻

For babies around 6–9 months, food is often their first sensory experience. They squish it, touch it, smell it, throw it, and yes… make a mess 😅 But through that “mess,” they are learning.

Don’t be afraid of flavour and exploration. Different textures, smells, and gentle seasoning can help introduce children to a wider sensory experience and build familiarity with food over time ✨

Sometimes what looks like “just playing with food” is actually learning in action.

Who knew toy cars could do so much more than drive? 🚗🎨😅

Here, our little ones turned cars into paint brushes and play into learning. While it may look like “just making a mess,” children were actually building important developmental skills through every push, roll, and colourful track they created.

✨ Strengthening hand muscles for future writing skills
✨ Working on hand-eye coordination
✨ Developing motor planning and body awareness
✨ Supporting attention and focus
✨ Exploring different sensory experiences through movement, textures, and colours

And the best part? They thought they were just having fun 💛

Our DIY planets got a colourful sensory makeover 🪐🎨✨

Through finger painting, children explored different textures, colours, and creative expression while naturally developing fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination, and sensory processing abilities.

Messy play like this supports learning through exploration, curiosity, and imagination… with plenty of paint-covered fingers along the way 🚀

Episode 17 🎙️ with Despoina Tziapoura

“Will they recover?” 💭

A diagnosis is not an illness to be cured. It is not something a child simply “gets over.” It is a way of understanding a child’s needs, strengths, and how they experience the world.

Children will have good days and difficult days, just like all of us. Progress is rarely a straight line. Some days they may appear to be “just playing,” but behind that play they are often working on communication, regulation, problem solving, confidence, and so many other skills.

Maybe the question is not “Will they recover?”
Maybe it becomes “How can we support them to thrive?” ✨

Foam sensory writing is more than just messy fun ✨

Writing in foam gives children a low-pressure way to practise pre-writing and letter formation while supporting regulation and impulse control. The soft, sensory input helps slow the body down, encouraging children to pause, plan their movements, and stay engaged for longer periods of time.

For children who struggle with impulsivity, activities like this can support:
• waiting and turn-taking
• motor planning
• attention and concentration
• body awareness
• emotional regulation
• fine motor and early handwriting skills

Plus… making mistakes feels much safer when you can simply wipe it away and try again 🤍

Nature’s buffet 🌿🍋✨

Today’s sensory play invited little hands to explore nature’s finest through creating natural home diffusers using fresh lemons, herbs, flowers, and calming scents.

Squeezing lemons, pouring, mixing, smelling, and creating… all while supporting sensory exploration, hand strength, fine motor skills, creativity, and connection with the natural world 🌱

We also explored how different smells make us feel — calm, energised, happy, sleepy, refreshed — encouraging emotional awareness through sensory play.

Sometimes the simplest materials create the richest play.🌼🌷🪻🌺🍄🍃✨🩷

Some days I pause and realise how lucky I am to do what I love every single day 🤍

Watching children grow, supporting families, celebrating the tiny wins that become big milestones… this is more than a job to me. It’s a passion, a purpose, and something I’ll never stop being grateful for ✨

"Η διάγνωση δεν αλλάζει το παιδί σου. Αλλά μπορεί να αλλάξει τον τρόπο που το καταλαβαίνεις.” 💚

A small clip from Episode 17 of the ERGO Healing Podcast with Despoina Tziapoura 🎙️

We spoke about the fear many families experience after hearing words like autism, ADHD, apraxia or dyspraxia… and why acceptance does not mean “giving up”, but finally understanding how to support your child better.

Sometimes the diagnosis is not the scary part. Feeling alone and lost is.
