For more than a decade, Miguel Ángel Silva from Spain has built a life around dialysis, one that still includes summer days by the sea, time with family, creativity, and hope. With the support of his care team, he has learned to adapt, making treatment part of his life rather than letting it define it.

Miguel says, "Dialysis is a heavy burden in everyday life, but it keeps me going. If it weren’t for dialysis, I wouldn’t be here today."

A diagnosis of chronic kidney disease can bring uncertainty and many questions about what life will look like. But as shown by Miguel, it doesn't mean life has to stop.

News 📢: Today, Fresenius Medical Care published its Q2 2026 financial results, delivering solid organic revenue growth of 5% and accelerating operating income growth excluding special items to 23% at constant currency. Read the full financial results via the press release linked below.

Our CEO Helen Giza, said: “Fresenius Medical Care delivered another quarter of highly profitable growth, driven by solid organic revenue growth and improved profitability. Care Delivery achieved strong operating income growth. Importantly, underlying operating income improved by 34% excluding the positive TDAPA effects, driven by rate improvements and benefits from revenue cycle management. The U.S. rollout of our innovative 5008X CAREsystem is progressing at speed, now available in 227 U.S. clinics, having performed more than 600,000 treatments. We are excited by the benefits we are seeing through early insights from our scientific research initiative BEACON-US and the potential for this therapy to significantly improve patient outcomes in the U.S.”

Giza continued, “Operating income growth in the first half was in line with our planned phasing for the full year and we confirm our outlook for 2026. Through disciplined ex*****on of the FME Reignite strategy, we are further improving the quality of patient care, investing in innovation and profitable future growth, addressing regulatory headwinds – creating long-term value for our shareholders.”

Earlier this month, we celebrated not just an extraordinary milestone for one of our employees – but a story spanning over four decades: Jürgen Baumann’s 40th work anniversary at Fresenius Medical Care.

As both a dedicated colleague and a person living with kidney disease, Jürgen's journey reflects everything that our values embody. While building a remarkable 40-year career with FME, he has also spent 40 years on dialysis.

Jürgen shared, “Dialysis has always been part of my life, but it has never defined me. I've always focused on what I can contribute. Fresenius Medical Care has given me the opportunity to do meaningful work alongside great colleagues, and I'm grateful for that every day.”

Few stories reflect our purpose as closely as his. For 40 years, he has contributed to improving the lives of people with kidney disease while personally living with dialysis himself – a remarkable parallel that makes his life truly unique.
