🇬🇧 The FSP phone-call simulation trips up doctors who speak fluent German because the problem is the structure, not the vocabulary. Open with "Praxis Dr. [Name], guten Tag" → ask "Mit wem spreche ich?" → take history with "Seit wann?" + "Können Sie beschreiben?" + one objective number → close with a concrete recommendation and an escalation rule. Never say "Es ist sicher nichts" or "Das kann warten." Save and practice out loud.

🇩🇪 Häufiger FSP-Fehler: keine Nachfragen. Patient sagt "ich habe Schmerzen", Kandidat hakt zur nächsten Frage ab. Genau da verlieren die Prüfer dich. Vier Reflex-Nachfragen für jede Anamnese: Seit wann? Wie beschreiben? Skala 1–10? Familienanamnese? Ohne Untersuchung ist dein Gespräch die einzige Quelle — frag gezielt nach.

🇩🇪 FSP-Tipp: üb die Anamnese mit der Stoppuhr. 20 Minuten klingen viel, bis du im Gespräch sitzt. Faustregel: 8 Min Anamnese, 5 Min Untersuchung, 5 Min Empfehlung + Eskalation. Üb mit Lernpartner und merk dir, wo du hängen bleibst.

🇬🇧 The single biggest reason new arrivals lose 2–3 months in Germany is paperwork they could have prepared at home. The full list is short: apostille on your diploma and transcript (you cannot get these from abroad), certified German translation of the same, originals hand-carried with scans in two backup locations, and a tabellarisch CV instead of the English one most arrivals bring. The other 80% of what people pack "to be safe" sits unused in a drawer for months. Save this for the week before your flight.

Der Rest von dem, was Leute "zur Sicherheit" einpacken, liegt monatelang ungenutzt in einer Schublade. Speichert euch das für die Woche vor dem Flug.

🇩🇪 Die Approbation in Deutschland dauert im Schnitt 12 bis 30 Monate. Für viele Ärzte aus dem Ausland heißt das ein Jahr ohne Einkommen, ohne Patientenkontakt, ohne Klarheit.

Es gibt drei Stellschrauben, die kaum jemand kennt:

1. Bundesland. Manche brauchen 6 Monate, andere über ein Jahr. Wer einfach hinzieht, wo Freunde oder Familie sind, verliert oft Monate.

2. Berufserlaubnis. Damit darfst du schon als Arzt arbeiten, unter Aufsicht, während deine Approbation noch läuft. Bis zu zwei Jahre, bezahlt. Voraussetzung: FSP plus Stellenzusage.

3. FSP-Vorbereitung. 1 von 3 Ärzten fällt durch. Fast alle davon sind unvorbereitet reingegangen. Ein C1-Medizinkurs vor der Ankunft halbiert das Risiko.

🇬🇧 Approbation in Germany takes 12 to 24 months on average. For a lot of foreign doctors that means a year without income, without patient contact, without certainty.

There are three things almost nobody talks about:

1. Which Bundesland you apply in. Processing times range from three months in some states to over a year in others. Most foreign doctors move where they already have a connection and don't compare.

2. The Berufserlaubnis. A temporary practice permit that lets you work as a doctor under supervision while your Approbation is being processed. Up to two years, full salary.

3. FSP preparation. One in three candidates fail. Almost all of them walked in without proper preparation. A structured C1-medical course before arrival cuts that risk in half.
