The flagship event is the World Health Summit (WHS) held annually in Berlin.

The World Health Summit is the leading global platform bringing together science, politics, civil society, and the private sector to catalyze collaborative and innovative solutions for key health priorities.

orative and innovative solutions for key health priorities. Each year, the Summit attracts more than 4,000 participants on-site and 10,000 online. In addition, each spring, a WHS Regional Meeting is hosted in a different part of the world to connect regional perspectives with global strategies, while year-round formats such as the WHS Global Health Dialogues bring together leaders and decision-makers to address strategic issues beyond the Summit dates.

🌳 A tree for every WHS 2026 participant

This October, one tree will be planted for every WHS 2026 participant at health centers and communities across Uganda's Nakaseke, Luuka, and Luweero districts, in partnership with Tree Adoption Uganda (TAU).

Beyond planting, TAU trains local health workers to respond to climate-related health risks like flooding and water contamination, strengthening community resilience where it's needed most.

Since 2023, this partnership has helped plant around 12,000 trees across Uganda. This year, that number grows with every participant joining us in Berlin.

Health systems face mounting pressure on multiple fronts: populations are aging, chronic disease is on the rise, workforce shortages persist, and climate change adds further strain.

At the same time, AI and digital tools are transforming how we diagnose, monitor, and deliver care. When deployed responsibly, they can flag outbreaks sooner, accelerate research, and reinforce primary care on the ground.

Yet technology alone cannot deliver resilience. It takes interoperable data, ethical oversight, equitable access, and a workforce equipped with both clinical expertise and digital fluency.

Building health systems fit for the future means combining innovation with human capacity, public trust, and sound governance.

⚖️Health cannot advance while women, children, and youth are left behind.

After decades of progress, maternal mortality has stalled, adolescent mental health is deteriorating, and reproductive rights remain out of reach for many.

These gaps are not only about shrinking budgets. They are driven by discriminatory laws, fragile infrastructure, poverty, and rigid gender norms, deepened by climate shocks, conflict, and displacement.

Alarmingly, one in five adolescent girls experiences sexual violence before the age of 18.

Health equity for women, children, and youth will be one of six central topics at the World Health Summit 2026.
