What if light could do more than you think? ✨
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a dermatological treatment that combines a light-sensitive medication with a specific light source to selectively target abnormal or sun-damaged skin cells.
PDT can be used for certain actinic keratoses and areas of chronic sun damage, depending on the individual diagnosis and treatment area.
What makes PDT particularly interesting? It can treat not only individual visible lesions, but in appropriate cases also a larger sun-damaged field where changes may be less obvious.
After treatment, temporary redness, sensitivity, crusting or peeling can occur, and careful sun/light protection is especially important. Suitability should always be determined after a dermatological examination.
Medical treatment. Activated by light.
