Stephanie & Andy Schoonover were 12 weeks pregnant when doctors told them their daughter had anencephaly.
She was considered “incompatible with life.”
But the Schoonovers rejected abortion and lovingly accepted her life.
“[W]e wanted to give that baby life in whatever way that God intended that life to look."
Baby Grace was born at 39 weeks, alive and crying.
She lived for 10 hours and 32 minutes, peacefully snuggled against her mother’s chest.
Many doctors pressure families to abort their babies with this condition.
They paint it as the merciful option.
But that isn’t true.
Abortion involves starving a baby to death via lethal drugs, brutally dismembering the baby limb from limb, or injecting them with poison.
It is brutal and painful. Not at all compassionate.
Every baby deserves a chance to live and be unconditionally loved by their parents.
Just like Grace.
