Just finished shaping a new ceramic piece today.
I used black clay to create this round vase (approx. 18cm in diameter, 13cm in height). For the texture, I wanted to capture something organic and alive—like the soft, soothing feel of a dog or cat’s fur that makes you just want to stroke it.
It’s currently at the raw stage, waiting for its bisque firing. I’m already so fond of how the natural texture of the clay breathes life into the form. Now, the quiet journey through drying and firing begins.

犬や猫の毛皮を撫でているときのような、優しく生命力あふれる質感を目指してテクスチャーを刻んでいます。
まだ素焼き前の段階ですが、土そのものが息づいているような表情がとても気に入っています。無事に焼き上がりますように。

I create pottery in Kyoto, Japan.
Introducing my latest piece: a small, mysterious flower vase.
This tiny vase, measuring about 8 cm and fitting perfectly in the palm of your hand, holds an incredible abundance of charm within its compact form.
Rhythmical Carved Patterns: The surface is covered with rhythmic patterns that resemble blooming flowers, radiating sunlight, or twinkling stars. Each stroke is carved by hand, giving it a vibrant energy as if the piece itself is breathing and emitting a powerful life force.
Organic and Gentle Form: Instead of a perfect sphere, it has a natural, slightly organic asymmetry—like a lovely pebble found at the bottom of a river. It brings a profound sense of comfort that makes you want to keep holding it.
Nuances of Earth and Fire: The rustic beige texture of the clay features a gentle, slightly reddish gradient and contrasting white highlights, creating a rich and deeply expressive depth.
Placing a single flower in this vase will create a beautiful resonance between nature and art, gently raising the vibration of your entire space. Even on its own, it stands beautifully as a captivating piece of art.

Introducing my latest creation: a Matcha bowl (Chawan) coated in traditional Oribe glaze.
It is absolutely fascinating how a single type of Oribe glaze can bring out such a rich variety of colors and expressions! Looking into the bowl, I feel as if I am staring into the depths of a mystical, ancient forest—totally drawn into its serene world.
This is the exact moment I fell deeply in love with the magic of Oribe.
