The world has lost a unique visionary. We mourn the passing of Dr. Frank Zastrow, whose life touched and inspired so many people.

Frank Zastrow’s passion for oral surgery was instilled in him by his father. Taking over the practice in 2012 filled him with pride, and throughout his life, it was an honor for him to continue the legacy, expand it into clinic, and consistently strive to provide patients with the best possible care.

At the same time, Frank was a great visionary with a mission to revolutionize the field of dental implantology all over the world, making it more sustainable and effective. Inspired by his mentor, Prof. Dr. Fouad Khoury, he sought to establish Biological Bone Augmentation as the gold standard. He founded the global movement of the "Real Bone Builders" and left an indelible mark on the dental world with his captivating personality, dedication, and ambition. As the inventor of the Easy Bone Collector and The Semilunar Technique, he enabled colleagues to reach the next level of oral surgery. For his team at My Implant Business, it was an honor to accompany and support Frank over the past eight years on what he fondly called his "crazy trip to change the dental world." The MIB Team and his family will continue to uphold Frank’s vision and ensure that his innovative work remains a source of inspiration and progress.

Frank’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Everyone who had the privilege of working with him, being his friend, or even meeting him just once, experienced the infectious enthusiasm that defined him. His personality and life's work
will never be forgotten.

We thank you for your support, friendship, and the love you have shared with Frank and our team over the years, especially in the last few days.

In light of this tragic loss, the MIB Team and the Zastrow family kindly ask for restraint from speculation and rumors. Let us all instead honor the life and legacy of Dr. Frank Zastrow with the respect it so undoubtedly deserves. May his vision live on!

🤔❓Which technique is more predictable for treating bone defects: the Khoury technique or the sausage technique? Which one is less invasive? Does the peri-implant environment differ? Which method delivers faster results with fewer surgeries?

👨🏻‍⚕️In this case, we used the SBBT technique to treat a horizontal defect in the posterior mandibular area, while simultaneously placing implants. We successfully managed a buccal implant dehiscence larger than 9mm, covering the entire implant surface with over 2mm of bone. This allowed us to create an ideal peri-implant environment and maintain it with proper crestal bone preservation, following the protocol.
